One of my favorite traditions is the one that involves putting up the Christmas tree. Our tradition is to put up the tree the day after Thanksgiving. We listen to great holiday music, drink yummy holiday drinks and laugh a lot. Later, in the evening, we then watch White Christmas staring Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye. This year, we had to break with tradition because we are so excited to have Ella involved. She was only 10 months old last year when we put up the tree, so she was enamored by the lights, but wasn't really involved. This year, she is into everything and very much involved! We are going to be out of town for several days at Thanksgiving time visiting family, because of that, we wanted to put the tree up early so she could enjoy it for a longer period of time.
We had a fabulous time this evening. Two of my ornaments are already broken and the tree nearly came down on top of Ella once. In the pictures shown, Ella is sitting on the step latter in front of the tree. Despite our repeated efforts to keep her off of it, she was determined to be up there. This picture is the moment just before she fell over backwards into the tree. We were not being negligent, in fact, I nearly dropped the camera in an effort to get to her. No permanent damage was had to either Ella or the tree. The final picture here is Mommy fixing the tree while Daddy is kissing Ella all better.
Ode to traditions!

Keepin Up With The Jones's
In the past week-and-a-half, we have received three new links via e-mail for frinend's and faimilies blogs. We are taking that as a kick in the rear to get our act together and make one of our own. So here you are . . . the official Winter Blog . . . Winter Quarters!
