Landon decided that he would make a change to his competitive mountain biking this year. The past two years, he participated in a 24-hour mountain bike race. He learned a lot the first year and improved immensely the second year. So, to push himself this year, he decided to race against time. Rather than trying to get the farthest distance in a set time (24 hours), he would try to get the best time over a set distance (100 miles). The "good" of this experience was that he was maintaining the speed he had predetermined that would get him to the finish line on time. The "bad" was that the course was poorly marked and thus he took several wrong turns and had to back-track several times. The result was that the frustration of the experience brought him home early. In the end, it was all good. We were able to spend the afternoon as a family and enjoy a great weekend together.

Holy Smokes! That last picture is definitely a little mini Shellie picture if I ever saw one. Well, hopefully next year we will be able to go and cheer Landon on too.
Sorry about the frustrations. What a bummer. Glad you guys were still able to have some fun times.
At least Landon had his girls to cheer him up for the rest of the weekend.
